I always complain about how hot the weather is in Malaysia ever since I arrived. My sister just moved in to another house and they don't have air-condition so we have no choice but to bear the deadly heat. Walang biro yung init!
Instant Gala
One weekend, my sister decided to
go to Genting just to stop me from nagging. Lol! All I know about Genting is
Resorts World so I didn't mind it a lot really.
From our place, we took a cab
going to One Utama mall. There are busses available in one utama that can take
you up the cable car station going to Genting. Back and Forth including the
cable car ride will cost you around 25RM each.
The cable car ride takes about
20-30 minutes and the height is a sure thrill. Plus the fog that oh just watch
the video below:
If you get tired of the usual casino and mall hopping in Resorts World, there's a nearby Chinese temple that you can visit.
Chin Swee Caves Temple is a Chinese
mainly Taoist temple situated in a most scenic site of Genting. Since it’s a
temple, there’s no charge with the entrance, but you can always opt to give a
donation. To go to the Chin Swee Caves Temple, you need to pass through Resorts
World and go to First World hotel. There are buses that serve free rides for
everyone who wants to visit the temple.
Interesting find besides the
detailed designs of usual Chinese temples, is this path to the Journey to Enlightenment.
You will be faced with an enormous Buddha before entering.
Inside are different chambers depicting hell as a result of one's bad conduct.

And hell yes, when there’s hell,
there’s also heaven! Here you’ll get to see beautiful faces and lots of birds.
Yes birds, plus the most beautiful view of Genting.
For 4 hours we're able to conquer Genting! 1 hour lakad and cable car + 2 hours gala + another 1 hour lakad pabalik and cable car. The reason why we have that very tight schedule is because we don't want to miss their bus schedule. Strict sila when it comes to schedule eh.
To me, Genting is like the
Tagaytay Highlands of Malaysia minus the resorts world, the super long cable
car ride (maiksi lang kasi yung cable car sa Tagaytay Highlands) and chin swee
temple. The cold fresh air and scent are very similar, but one thing that is
incomparable talaga is our very own food. Iba ang lutong Pinoy.
Our next stop is Batu Caves! Will
be posting the details on my next blog!
