If you are on a tight schedule but wants to enjoy Langkawi for a day, I have prepared to you an itinerary that may help. Langkawi is an archipelago of islands in Malaysia that is also known as Jewel of Kedah. The place is situated near the Thai border, hence transportation to Thailand is available.
Langkawi offers numerous spots that can be enjoyed by travelers and even the whole family.
Please note that this itinerary may be hard to attain, but at least you get the idea of what can happen to your day in Langkawi.

The best way to get to Langkawi is by boarding a plane from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi Airport. The travel may take 1 to 2 hours unlike when you take the bus that may go from 8 to 12 hours depending on traffic.

If you are taking the bus, allow at least a day so you have time to rest after a long ride. The bus usually takes off from a specific terminal of your choice (you may book your tickets HERE) and will drop off to Kuala Perlis terminal. From there you can book a ferry that will take you to Langkawi. The ferry ride usually takes 40 minutes to 1 hour.
Since you'll only be there for a day, I suggest you reserve or book your tour online. But if you wish to stay for a night to enjoy some wholesome beach party, you may ask for your hotel receptionist to book the tour for you. I highly suggest you select the half day island hopping tour that will start 9:00 in the morning to 1:00 in the afternoon. The 4-hour tour includes visiting the famous Lake of Pregnant Maiden, Eagle Watching, and a dip to Pulau Beras Basah.
After the tour, you may have your lunch for an hour and go directly to Panorama Langkawi. Panorama Langkawi is the theme park that offers world renowned tourist attractions such as Sky Cab and Sky Bridge - the world's longest free span and curved bridge.
The usual travel time from Pantai Cenang to Panorama Langkawi takes 30 to 40 minutes. By the time you arrive, make sure to book the 4:30 or 4:45 PM Sky Cab schedule as the sunset usually takes place by 6:30 or 7:00 PM.
The cable car (Sky Cab) will take you up the Sky Bridge for about 30 to 40 minutes. Once there, you will have to pay for another ticket (price list below) to go to the curved bridge. Your options are trekking the sky trail or getting into the Sky Glide (which I think is the most convenient way).
You may stay as long as you want at the sky bridge or as long as your guts can. Every step is a thrill-inducing experience especially to those who have fear of heights. The park is open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It also offers other attractions and activities such as 3D art gallery, SkyDome, and Sky Adventure Park.
Here is our 1-day itinerary and price list:
7:30 AM to 8:30 AM - KLIA to Langkawi Airport
8:30 AM to 9:00 AM - Breakfast
9:00 AM to 1:00 PM - Island Hopping (35 to 40 RM)
1:00 PM to 2:00 PM - Lunch
2:00 PM to 3:00 PM - Rest
3:00 PM to 3:30 PM - Travel to Panorama Langkawi
3:30 PM to 4:30 PM - Free time (you may enjoy other park attractions and activities included in your purchased ticket)
4:30 PM to 6:00 PM - Sky Cab and Sky Bridge
Sky Cab - 55 RM ticket includes other attractions such as Skydome and 3D Art Gallery
Sky Bridge - if you are taking the sky trail, ticket will be 5 RM while sky glide is 15 RM

You may experience difficulties in traveling from one place to another especially during holidays. I highly suggest you use grab or uber to minimize the hassle. If you are unable to book any when departing from Panorama Langkawi at 6:00 PM, there are drivers outside that offers certain price to any destination of your choice within Langkawi. You can even haggle if you have the guts to do so. LOL!
